Here's a project I'm REALLY excited about. I've been looking for a vanity for a while now to store my makeup and have a more professional area to apply makeup on other people (my living room couch and coffee table is getting old), so I started scouring Craigslist and the ever-magical Raleigh Flea Market for inspiration. I recently ended up finding this little vintage sewing table for $40 on Craigslist, the mirror is from an antique dealer at the flea market, and the chair is an old find from an estate sale back when I lived in DC. Now with a complete set, I'm eager to start working! My plan is to paint the desk and chair (white? grey?), find new hardware for the desk (or paint the existing pulls gold??), and finally reupholster the chair with a cool floral vintage fabric. I also found some inexpensive LED studio lights that SHOULD be arriving soon (excuse me while I go hunt down the UPS truck). I'm a little worried about the lights because I've never had a professional light source and maybe now I'll realize I've been wearing the wrong color foundation this whole time (*crosses fingers I don't have an umpa lumpa complexion*). My main source of inspiration has been the before and after section of Apartment Therapy, which can turn into a black hole if you're obsessed with design like me.
